This is a simple waterproofing for e.g. rain. Do not point a high-pressure cleaner or similar at the unit.
Standby power consumption is high due to the high output specification. To prevent draining the battery, please switch off the power supply when the vehicle is stopped, e.g. a connection with the master key or a separate switch.
